This coconut oil is wondrous on my skin! After I shower, I dry off and apply this all over my body. I don’t leave any area of skin untouched! It absorbs quickly and you don’t feel too oily afterward. I have tried all sorts of body oils and this is one of my favorites. It’s a blend of Coconut, almond and grapeseed oil and I would say the scent is a mixture of coconut and almond. Very light and refreshing. I put this on after my shower, when my skin is still damp, to trap in the moisture. I use it on my face too, before bedtime and it feels amazingly moisturized in the morning. It came in a waterproof-like bag, which was great because there was a tad of the oil that leaks out, so that is to be expected and they planned for it.

I have really difficult skin–allergic, sensitive, reactive and rosacea. It’s made it very difficult to buy skin products through the years. I quickly came to the decision to use products that were mostly natural. I’ve used carrier oils on my face for at least 15 years. Bought my lotions/creams from online, boutique type companies. Started doing aromatherapy in mid April and eventually did two online courses from a reputable aromatherapy institute. One of my classes was a butters & balms course. Since that time, I’ve been making and trying a lot of other natural skin care products.
MANY years ago, when I was a teenager, Neutragena made a great smelling after shower oil. I recently went to look it up (not sure they still make it) and found out their current product(s) have ingredients that I wouldn’t use on my skin. I ordered a body oil that had some “lighter” oils in it and liked it a lot. So, when I saw the Lux Coconut Gold at a discount for an honest review, I purchased it. This is, at least, the third Lux oil I’ve used. To date, they’ve all been quality oils. I have to say that this is another one. Personally, I don’t think it has much of an odor. I might add some good skin essential oils for scent and, possibly, therapeutic purposes.
I’m not sure what process is so that this product stays liquid at temperatures in the 60s. Most virgin coconut oil is solid below 72-74 degrees Fahrenheit. I know that sweet almond and grapeseed oils are added to it; however, with coconut oil as your first ingredient, it just baffles me. That being said, the oil is great. I’ve put it on my hands, legs and face. It absorbs quickly compared to some other products I use (a whipped shae butter, especially.) Some people have issues with coconut oil on their face. Don’t know if the addition of the sweet almond and grapeseed would make a difference. It’s a great body oil, so I’d recommend purchasing even if you can’t use it on your face.

I love that it is 100% USDA organic coconut oil. Very good quality, goes on smooth and rubs in nicely. My face and hands never have a leftover oily shiny residue and it has really helped to clear up my skin. I would definitely recommend trying this out.

To be honest, based on the product title, picture, and description, I was surprised to see that this is a blend of a few different oils instead of just coconut oil. When I went back to look, I saw that the info was under the “details” section, but not mentioned in the main description. Normally, I’d be a little miffed at the seeming misrepresentation, but I actually don’t mind because the oils it’s blended with make it a thinner, more easily-abscess oil than traditional coconut oil.
The bottle isn’t quite as big as it looks in the photo, but it’s a good amount of oil that should last a while, particularly since a little really does spread well and goes a long way. It absorbs tremendously fast, so this would be a fantastic oil to condition the skin in the morning, while leaving the heavier, slower-to-absorb oils for washing makeup off at night and applying before bed.
Because this oil is a blend, I likely won’t use it in many of my homemade salve recipes since I wouldn’t be able to accurately measure the quantities of each oil type, but it will all make an excellent skin and hair conditioner, and might be used in occasional one-off salves and home beauty products when I’m feeling like just playing around and not recording replicable recipes.
I am currently reviewing a number of different oils from different companies and will be writing up a comparison addition to my reviews soon. Until then, I’m writing individual reviews with the offer to answer any questions or to add any additional information requested by commenters.

Alright so I’m not going to write a novel as a review, If you’re anything like most people I know…they only skim through the reviews. HOWEVER, I’m definitely going to give this oil and the company LUX their props. This a very beautifully made oil. It is a mix of a few different oils, but all natural and organic. I have found that it makes an EXCELLENT makeup remover/moisturizer. I use it to remove eye makeup….and this is a fantastic solution for me and my super sensitive skin. It has a very very faint but pleasant smell of coconut. No weird chemicals or junk in it. Just the good stuff. Oh and btw it helps psoriasis too….it’s just a calming skin product. I highly recommend to anyone who cares about what they put on their skin.

This is a great carrier oil to mix with my essential oils. It is actually a blend of almond oil coconut oil and grape seed oil. I thought I was getting a pure coconut oil, but I guess by the name “Coconut Gold” I should have realized it was not pure coconut oil, but a blend of oils. Nevertheless, I love it. I have been using it on my face as a moisturizer and on the heels of my feet. It has no smell to it at all, maybe a tiny slight hint of cocnut but very very light. I use coconut oil all the time at home for cooking, as a moisturizer, carrier oil, etc. however with this blend I think I’ll cut out the cooking part and just use it for beauty related projects. Oh and I love the spill proof bag it came in. Large bag that prevent oil from leaking on to your other items ordered from Lux if the seal fails. Thick sealed bag to contain the oil leaks is a great idea. I received a discount on this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. In no way did my discount effect the review I have given for this product. All of my reviews are honest and getting a discount on a product I don’t like won’t persuade me to give a 5 star review.

This organic coconut oil blend is amazing. It is truly one of the highest quality, nicest coconut oil blends I have found! My wife makes a lot of our family’s skincare products and said this is one oil she reserves to use in her most prized concoctions. She also confessed to being selfish with it, refraining from using it in anything that is given away. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say she really REALLY likes this stuff!
The oil itself is like satin, going on smoothly and soaking into the skin beautifully, leaving it soft and supple. Then there is the scent. While fractionated coconut oil does not have a scent and loses most of the beneficial properties, this blend is made from raw, organic coconut oil, so it has all the beneficial properties of the coconut oil and the scent is amazing. Because it is blended with other oils, this oil maintains its liquid state unless you let it get really cold. Don’t worry if you start to see white flakes in it, particularly in the Winter; that is merely evidence of its true purity, and will disappear again as the oil warms.
The quality and purity of this product is outstanding, and rarely have I found an oil that rivals it. I highly recommend it.

This is some good stuff! I like that this is a mixture of coconut, almond and grapeseed oils. ALL very good oils. It has a very very light scent of the coconut. The other oils seem to mask most of it. Almost unscented but I can smell the coconut which is fine w/ me. I use this oil on my skin and hair with great results. It leaves my hair/skin nice and soft.

First off, let me state, this is a blend of oils, it is not 100% coconut oil. It is made with Coconut oil, Sweet Almond oil, and Grape seed oil. I actually can notice NO SMELL other than a slight grape seed oil smell. It also is not clear, it has a slight green tint, like Grape Seed would. I like this oil as an after shower oil, and especially with Winter setting in, that dry skin in Winter is not fun!
I do like how it goes on and it does absorb really easy, but again, there is no noticeable smell that I can detect! And while I did receive this at a discount in exchange for my honest review, the amount paid was still enough that I am not sure I would purchase this again, even at that reduced price. Frankly, I have used 100% cold pressed organic Coconut oil straight out of the bottle after a shower and it melts PERFECTLY into my skin and costs a whole lot less per ounce!
The only plus, is this is blended with other oils, making it easy to apply. This came packaged very well, inside an enclosed plastic bag with the branding of LUX on it, in case it broke in transit, which I thought was a good idea! The packaging is top notch, the branding is nice, and if you like blends, this is a nice one and worth trying to see if it suits you!

This is great for dry skin and keeping moister lock in. Coconut oil is natural and doesn’t clog pores or doesn’t leave skin oily.
I use this in the winter time just after I get out of the shower. Very gentle to the skin and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch.
I also use it on my hair for a smooth frizz free shiny hair also helps with hair growth. Conditions hair all day long without leaving hair greasy looking. Great for so many different uses.

I picked this oil up for one of my good friends who enjoys using coconut oil on his hands and hair. This is actually a blend of almond, coconut, and grapeseed oil. These three oils together give excellent, all natural, moisturizing effects. He says he enjoys it and has been using it everyday. He uses it on his hair before styling, for protection and frizz control, and he said he wanted to see how it worked on his goatee. After a using it for a week he said his goatee is soft, tame, shiny, and healthy looking. This oil is also doing an excellent job on his hair. He says it keeps his naturally curly/frizzy hair at ease. He believes it is also helping protect/keep it nourished while straightening. This is my second LUX brand oil and again I was pleased with it. They come in a sealed bag, which makes a nice presentation. This one works great as a carrier oil for my essential oils that need them. Anyone who uses essential oils knows how often you end up using the carrier oils and coconut is among the top. This coconut oil is amazing even for combination skin which I have. It comes in great packaging and I love that it doesn’t have a really strong coconut extract smell. It’s awesome as a makeup remover for waterproof mascara and eyeliner. I love makeup but I live in a very humid city and I need my makeup to be waterproof so I don’t end up looking like a racoon in a couple of hours. But waterproof makeup is super hard to get off and this is a Godsend. My skin feels amazing when I apply it and it absorbs quickly. Lux Coconut Gold is packaged in a 4-ounce clear plastic bottle with a squeeze top. This oil is amazing! The color is a clear yellow/green. One time I think it looks green, the next it looks yellow to me. It is a blend of coconut, grapeseed and almond oil, all great in skin care products. This oil absorbs pretty quickly. First I admit with my extremely curly, dry frizzy hair, I have used coconut oil, (The hard kind from the grocery store) on my hair for added moisture. Just about a teaspoon is enough on my hands for a nighttime conditioner.
I have used this in my hair in place of argan oil and loved it. I mixed it with tea tree oil and used it on my feet with a pair of socks over night and it was amazing for my feet. Just a drop added to your moisturizer is wonderful. Works good as cuticle oil also and is healthy for nails too. This oil could easily become my favorite carrier oil. I like just a few drops on my elbows as they get so dry this time of year.

This has been a great multi use product. I use this every night as a face moisturizer. I apply this to a cotton ball after cleaning my face. It helped face the acne scars I have and made my skin tone amazing. I also have used this a few times a week as a deep conditioner. I apply my regular shampoo and conditioner, then put this on for 30 minutes then wash off. My hair comes out so soft and free of static/frizz. I straigten my hair all the time so it gets very frizzy but this has been a great saver on my hair. I love the way my skin and hair feels after using this also. I recommend this to anyone. I have very sensitive skin and this does not break my out at all or give me any problems.
